Computers, Music, and Open Source Software

It has come to my attention that many people might be able to make use of a blog concerning setting up things like a home studio. I figured that, since I am starting the process of setting up my own, I will blog about it, and in the process put together a number of How-To's that I can post on the forum.

So, please let me know (on the Contact page) if there is anything in interests you (just bear in mind, that if I need to help you specifically, it is a Service that I would be giving) and I will happily blog about how I went about doing just that.

Open Source programs such as Audacity and Jokosher are excellent programs, I have discovered, for setting up a home studio and thus doing recordings. I am sure that there are programs which are commercially available which are more powerful with greater capacities, and feel free to go and find them! I am too poor (lack of business maybe?) to afford the hundreds (sometimes thousands) of US dollars to get such programs. (never mind the petrol price!)

Please keep my blog in your Favourites folder! I will definitely keep on posting about this. Music is indeed food for the soul --wait a minute, that quote isn't right! Who cares? It's fun, and it should be free! (Ok fine, I have been indoctrinated by Open Source software, but I need it! I don't want to pirate software!)
